This post is only almost 6 months late. Oooops. But to be fair I was in talks with a wedding mag featuring our wedding. I sent over all the details and photographs and they said great we will get back to you with a date. They never did. So I'm finally sharing them. At last!

I've broken down our wedding into a few parts so you're not scrolling through endless photographs. I might also post a list of suppliers as when we were wedding planning we found it those types of blog posts so helpful, especially when you do a lot of things yourself.

This post is all about what we wore. I know to most people the dress is one of the most important aspects of the day, well it always seems to be on Don't Tell The Bride. In all honesty I wanted to look good but I didn't care too much about the dress specifically. The done thing for wedding dresses is ordering your dress months in advance. Now I had a slight issue with this. I was heavily pregnant last summer when I should have been ordering my dress. I did kind of let it slip my mind a little too as I was focused so much on becoming a mother.

I didn't stress too much though as I thought that a lot of high street shops now offer wedding dresses and I was sure that I would find something. It may not be a *real* wedding dress but it didn't matter as long as we got married.

4 weeks after giving birth there was a sample sale at a wedding dress shop in the town over from us. We decided that we would go along and see if there was anything that took my fancy I wasn't holding out my hope but I knew that time was getting the better of us and I would soon need to make a decision.

We turned up to the shop, newborn in tow and took a look through the rails I picked out a few dresses to try on. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law came along too. My mother-in-law picked out a dress that I didn't like and I told her that I didn't like it but I would try it on seeing as she loved it so much. My sister-in-law was in another part of the shop to me. The sales assistant brought through more dresses to add to the sale rail and my sister-in-law shouted "Oooh Cath, you need to try on this one". So I did and it was pretty much perfect. It was exactly what I wanted. It was £1350 reduced to £300. The one slight issue. It didn't fit. It was a size 10. Wedding dresses are usually two sizes smaller than normal sizing and I put on 2 1/2 stone during pregnancy so I wasn't at my smallest. The sales assistant told me not to worry as the seamstress they recommend could alter it. I bought the dress. I did have it altered but only some taken off the length. By the time February came round it fitted perfectly. It was meant to be.

My veil was my something old, it was my mums. I also had something new - a pair of earrings, something blue - my Nanny's hanky, my mum had the same as hers and my something borrowed was a garter from my sister in law.

As for a certain Mr's suit. Well, that was sorted back in July 2015. He was one organised guy. We popped into our local Greenwoods and he found the perfect 3 piece suit there an then. It cost £100 which was a total bargain, but even better than that he had a £30 gift card taking his spend to £70. You can't argue with that. It's a perfect charcoal grey and it was exactly what he had wanted.

His shirt came from Peacocks for £8 a belt for £5, shoes were £25 for M&S and his tie came from good old Tesco for £3.

As for my bridesmaids, my sister and Edith. Edith's dress was a last minute job as we didn't know what size she would be. We settled for a cute dress from Next for £17, with a little white cardigan for £8. She wore a coat from M&S which was £12 and the hair bow and shoes were off eBay. We got a 3 pack of white tights from Primark. She looked so cute!

My sisters dress was bought in January 2015 in the Christmas sales. It was a massive bargain. Reduced from £80 to £16. I saw it on Very and I had to buy it and hope that shes didn't change size, thankfully it did still fit. I then bought a pair of glittery shoes and a matching fluffy cardigan to mine both were in the New Look sale for £7.

It just goes to show that you don't need to spend a fortune on things for your wedding. I had so many compliments on my dress and I felt good in it, which is the most important thing. Everyone looked amazing!
