Weekly Meal Plan #10

Monday, September 12, 2016

I really hope that you are proud of us! We survived the week with no takeaway. We had chips from the chip shop on Saturday but we allowed for that. To be fair last week we weren't even tempted by it. Lets go another week of eating healthier at home!

Although things have just got a little bit difficult with meal planning. My husband has been suffering with a horrible pain every time he eats after I told him he needs to go to the Dr's, he listened and found out that he has a digestive problem. He's on some tablets to line his stomach and has to avoid anything good. By anything good I mean alcohol, tea, coffee !!!! (I could not live without coffee) and spicy food. It's a real blow as we both enjoy spicy food so this weeks meal have been based around no spices.

Our weekly shop was at ASDA. I'm not the biggest fan of ASDA more of an ALDI or Morrisons kinda lady but it's on the way to my Mums so it makes logistical sense to shop there. Our total shop came to £32.47 but that included nappies and baby snack food. They had Ella's Kitchen smoothie pouches on offer an Edith loves those!

This week we've got our nieces birthday on Thursday and we are heading over there for a birthday tea, which meant one less meal for the week so we've got a meal for Saturday instead, which means we will stick to our chip shop/takeaway once a fortnight.

This week we are eating:

Monday
Satay turkey with noodles and stir fry veg.

Tuesday
Mushroom soup pasta bake.

Wednesday
Baked tomato, spinach and mozzarella dip with baguette, carrot and cucumber sticks.

Friday
Mozzarella, bacon and onion tarts with mash and veg.

Saturday
Chicken burgers in wraps with potato wedges.

What are you eating this week?

  1. I really need to get into meal planning especially as I will be working 4 days for the next two weeks. But my hubby doesn't like it, he's a very day to day shopper. And I can't complain as he does almost all the cooking. My favourite meal is Monday, love a satay. Thank you for linking up to #ablogginggoodtime 🎉

    1. It's so handy if you're busy. Taking a little time to get the week sorted. The satay was great!

  3. Intrigued by your turkey satay! Was that fillets of turkey? I'm trying to find ways to use turkey more because it's so much cheaper! I got some turkey mince and can't figure out what to do with it except turkey burgers, which my OH refuses to eat haha! Turkey satay I'm sure he would go for though!!
I'm very impressed you can do a weekly shop for so little too! I often end up spending almost triple that! Perhaps I need to try a different supermarket. At the moment I just always go to tesco.

    1. Hello! Thanks for your comment. I used turkey mince as it was on offer. You could use any cut of meat to be honest. Let me know if you give it ago. The recipe is on here now! 😊

  5. I really love your weekly meal plans. There is so much variety and different ideas there. Sorry about your husband's condition. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't drink and eat spicy food! #kcacols

  6. I seem to spend my life planning meals, only for us to disregard my plan completely and order in! Must make more of an effort to stick to it! Thanks so much for linking up at #KCACOLS, hope you can come back again Sunday after next x
