Voucherbox.co.uk has teamed up with Zamcog to present The £2 Challenge: Can you feed you and/or each person in your family for £2 per head per day? Of course being the budget foodie I am jumped at the chance. I wanted to show people that you can eat decent food on such a small budget and raise awareness of the campaign.
Did you know it costs £2 to feed and educate a child in Zambia each day. So the blogging community has been challenged to create a days worth of food for £2 per head. As we are a family of 3. That makes our budget £6. Which is quite a bit to work with. I tried my best to get 5 portions of fruit & veg into it and I think I've achieved it.
This challenge has come at the perfect time when we are all a little bit cash strapped after Christmas and January seems to have gone on for months. So I hope you like my recipes and shopping list for £6.

I'm pretty impressed with myself. A whole days worth of food for 3 (it could stretch to 4) for just £6. I even came in under budget.
Now it's time to nominate some people to take part. I pick The Culinary Jumble, Winnettes & Mummy in a Tutu.

ReplyDeleteWow great work and tasty food #stayclassymama
ReplyDeleteWow well done! And it looks very yummy! I really need to get better at planning our meals, it's way too often that we have food that's gone off that could easily have been used for dishes if only I'd planned the weeks better. #foodiefriday
ReplyDeleteWow that's brilliant! Well done you for doing that. It just goes to show that we eat cheaply and get all the goodness too. Thanks for linking up at #fortheloveofBLOG. Claire x
