Our Adventure {Part Two}

Here's part two of our little adventure. 

We woke up, I would say nice and early but it was 9:30 before we left the Travel Lodge. We decided that we wanted to visit Bury St Edmunds, somewhere we've never been but everyone says how lovely it is. The town is so pretty and it's a real mix of old English style and a modern shopping village. But first things first we needed breakfast and you can't go wrong with a Wetherspoons breakfast. We both had a full English with a cappacino for me and tea for the Mr. It was such a lovely pub, usually Wetherspoons are grubby or a bit dim and dingy but this was beautiful. Chandeliers everywhere and the most beautiful glass ceiling, It was such a lovely start to the morning and set us up for the day perfectly.

We then looked round the shops, we nipped in charity shops and a few clothes shops for me but both of us left empty handed. Nothing really took our fancy and I think we were far too busy taking everything in. Wednesday is also market day which meant the town was a little busier but there's nothing like a good local market. In fact we are planning on heading back to the Christmas market which I'm told is magical. (Can I talk about Christmas yet?)

After wandering around the shops we then headed to the Abbey Gardens and Cathedral. The gardens were so beautifully manicured and the flowers were just gorgeous. I decided there and then that I need their gardening team to makeover my very neglected garden. Well a girl can dream huh?

As we were walking past the ruins we came across a bridge which meant we had to play pooh sticks. There's something about playing pooh sticks that just brings back childhood memories. (I hope you know the game and not think I'm talking about something completely different!) After winning the game we then walked over to the Cathedral. It took us a good few minutes to work out how to get in but we got there in the end. Inside was just beautiful. I'm not religious but there is something incredible about Cathedrals. We lit candles in memory of those no longer with us and then soaked up the atomsphere whilst staring at the stain glass windows.

After all our exploring we need a drink so we popped to Costa before making our journey back. The journey was through some of the most beautiful country roads and I could have filled a memory card with pictures. It was breathtaking and made me proud to live in such a beautiful county.

We made it home late afternoon. It was such a lovely break to get away from recent stress and something we will have to do again. The Mr filmed and edited a little video which you can watch above.
