How Designing Your Dream Wedding Could Be More Achievable Than You Think

Wednesday, January 25, 2017

When you’re a little girl, you can often dream of having the big white wedding and feeling like a princess. But as you get older, it doesn’t always fit with who you’ve become. Regardless of what your dream wedding will be, when you get engaged, you can often feel the pressure to create a wedding that your guests will love. But, instead of getting swept away with trying to keep up with the Jones’, you should put all of your efforts into creating your dream wedding. Just because you had one dream when you were little, doesn’t mean you can’t recreate your modern equivalent.

Know What You Need

The first thing you need to do if you’re ever going to make your dream wedding a reality, regardless of what it looks like, is to figure out exactly what you need from your wedding. Sometimes, you can have a guest list that never seems to end. When that’s the case, you need to be able to work on a scale that fits your requirements. Or, if you have a set theme or venue in mind, you’ll need to work on bringing the number of guests down.

Work Out Your Priorities

When you’ve ironed out what the size of your wedding will be, you’re going to need to work out your priorities. In an ideal world, your entire wedding will look exactly how you want it to. But, that’s not always possible, for one reason or another. So, it can help to prioritise the things that mean the most to you, like the venue, date, or dress, and have a more flexible approach to everything else.

Consider Your Budget

Planning a wedding can be a difficult task, but you can aim to make things easier for yourself if you set out a strict budget from the beginning. Sometimes, you do have to work to a set budget, for cost reasons for example, but the price can often start to creep up and up. However, if you work out what is available to you right now, in terms of the scale you can expect, you’ll be able to ensure that everything stays on plan and still create the day of your dreams.

Weigh Up Locations

Sometimes, it’s the venue or location that can lead you to spend the most. Budget isn’t everything, of course, but when you’re trying to create a wedding that you love, you’re better off spreading the cost, instead of working with one large bill. You might find that an original venue, or a wedding in Hawaii will work out better for you, and still allow you to design the day of your dreams.

Make Sacrifices

And, achieving your dream day might also be possible if you’re prepared to make sacrifices. If there are certain things that you’ve prioritised, then you won’t mind doing this, but sometimes you can find that cutting back in a few places makes you money spread a little further. And when you’re trying to create a dream wedding, that could make all of the difference.
