10 things that happened this bank holiday weekend.

Tuesday, May 27, 2014

1. On Sunday we all gathered at my mums house to celebrate her birthday. I won't say her age but the photograph of her cake says it all (sorry mum!).

2. I walked to work Saturday morning in the pouring rain. Luckily I had my trusty pink umbrella so I didn't look like a drowned rat by the time I got to work. There's something quite nice about rain when your inside or not getting soaked from it.

3. I booked in a family photo shoot Sunday afternoon. Such a lovely group of people and I had fun capturing memories for them. I then spent the rest of the time editing the photographs.

4. Where we held the photo shoot was looking rather lovely. Even the duck pond water looked refreshing on the sunny Sunday, although I wouldn't advise hopping in. Last time I visited this garden the ducks tried to attack my mum who was taking photographs for me.

5. I became even more hooked on South Park. I always thought it was really stupid but after watching a few episodes I'm happy to admit I love it. Butters is my favourite character! He's just so cute.

6. I baked mum's birthday cake. It was flavoured with strawberries and elder flower, topped with lashings of cream and dusted with icing sugar. It was rather delicious and I'm going to post the recipe up tomorrow! (Lucky you!)

7. Monday morning we made waffles for breakfast. Getting a waffle iron for my birthday was a great idea. I forgot how much I loved them.

8.  We sang, far too much and far too often, loudly in the car. I think they should put cameras in cars so people can watch you get up to. It would be really funny to see. Our two part harmonies are spot on and you should just hear our rendition of Take That's "Shine".

9. I was told by my three (nearly four) year old niece that I had to paint a flower on the fence. I painted one on the fence in my mum's garden when I was little and she discovered it the other day. She told me that I needed to re-paint it in pink paint. When I told her I only had purple and asked would that be ok. She accepted. Now I need to get painting!

10.  We stayed up until midnight Sunday night watching T.V. I really regret it. I complained so many times about how tired I was on yesterday. I think I'm too old to go bed later!

I hope you enjoyed this post, I just wanted to post something a little different. How did you spend your weekend?

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside.

Tuesday, April 29, 2014

Sunday my Mum and I spent an afternoon walking along the seafront. We decided it was best we get out of the house while the Mr and my brother watched football. As it was a nice day we headed down to the beach and we both agreed how much we take for granted living by the glorious coast. I find it crazy to think that people get excited to see the sea. It's all I've ever known and I can't imagine living anywhere else.

We are very lucky to have a blue flag beach and the sand is such a pure colour. It was quite hazy on Sunday which made the colour of everything even more beautiful. I planned to take outfit photographs but the main beach was busy full of dog walkers and kids so we headed to a little gardens just of the seafront. That did not go well. My mum almost got attacked by ducks and you can see the fear in my face, so safe to say they will never make it onto here.

We stopped for an ice cream before we headed home. We both settled for a (kids) teddy cone. How cute are they? And then walked back along the beach passed all the pretty beach huts. On the way back a lovely seagull decided that my coat was the perfect place to poop (Oh the joy of seaside living!) so after a quick clean up we headed home to find two very sad Liverpool fans.

How did you spend your Sunday?

My day in photos #2

Thursday, April 03, 2014

My last day in photos post went down well so I thought that I'd do another. This was my Sunday. Such a busy day. We both invited our mum's over for a big Sunday lunch so I spent most of the day preparing for that.

I started off the day with being thrown off by the clock change. I always end up sleeping for ages so I set my alarm for nine to I knew that I would have enough time to get everything done.

We got ready and then set off food shopping to get in the dinner.

A quick spot of outfit photographs. It mainly involves me bullying the Mr into taking them for me. I always end up getting one of him while I'm testing the light.

As soon as we got back I started on the cake. I made blueberry and lemon cake which will be on here soon!

We then set the table and went to pick up my mum and then the Mr's mum arrived.

We had such a lovely lunch and it was the perfect way to spend Mother's day. The dinner went down well.

I ended the day with a hot bubble bath and then relaxing on the sofa. The perfect remedy for a busy day.

My day in photos #1

Thursday, March 20, 2014

This is a post I've been meaning to do for ages and I've finally got round to doing it. I'll warn you now that this post is picture heavy although what do you expect? It is my day in photos haha! I hope you this gives you a sneak peek into my Saturday.

9:00 - Starting my day of with a cuppa. Can't function without one, I'm pretty sure this is a sign of getting old!
10:00 - Sorting myself out for the day. Make up, hair and teeth etc.

11:00 -Bribing the Mr to put the washing on the line for me. I love housework and cleaning but putting the washing on the line is so boring.
11:15 - The family came over and we made bread with the little ones.

11:30 - We let them do the kneeding and shaped there own bread!
13:00 - We went into town and by the time we came back the bread have proofed so we baked it and ate it for lunch. Homemade bread is so much nicer!
14:00 - I got the washing in. Too nice, aren't I.
14:30 - Forcing the Mr to take outfit photographs. This always results in an outtake or two!
15:00 - We sat down and watched TV. Well I say we watched. I moaned while the rugby was cluttering up my TV!
17:45 - Sunset. This always results in me going "oooh look how pretty the sky is!". I love a good sunset/sunrise.
18:15 - Saturday evening is always dinner from the chipshop. It's a tradition my mum and dad started and that I've held on to.
20:30 - Time for us to debate whose turn it is to make a cuppa. It worked out to be his turn. Yay! We couldn't resist a piece of this cake too. How cute is the little chocolate dog? I was testing out a chocolate mould.

So there it is my day in photos! I hope I'm not too boring for you.
