seaside

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside.

Sunday my Mum and I spent an afternoon walking along the seafront. We decided it was best we get out of the house while the Mr and my brother watched football. As it was a nice day we headed down to the beach and we both agreed how much we take for granted living by the glorious coast. I find it crazy to think that people get excited to see the sea. It's all I've ever known and I can't imagine living anywhere else.

We are very lucky to have a blue flag beach and the sand is such a pure colour. It was quite hazy on Sunday which made the colour of everything even more beautiful. I planned to take outfit photographs but the main beach was busy full of dog walkers and kids so we headed to a little gardens just of the seafront. That did not go well. My mum almost got attacked by ducks and you can see the fear in my face, so safe to say they will never make it onto here.

We stopped for an ice cream before we headed home. We both settled for a (kids) teddy cone. How cute are they? And then walked back along the beach passed all the pretty beach huts. On the way back a lovely seagull decided that my coat was the perfect place to poop (Oh the joy of seaside living!) so after a quick clean up we headed home to find two very sad Liverpool fans.

How did you spend your Sunday?

I have had the loveliest week. A week off from work was just what I needed. Sometimes you don't realise how tired you are until you stop. A day lounging on the sofa was heavenly. I can't remember the last time I did that, other than being ill.

Yesterday we spent the day at the seaside. I live 10 minutes away from the beach but sometimes it's nice to visit another beach and the one the town over from me has arcades, doughnuts, chips, ice creams and as many tacky toys as you like. We rode on rides (well I say we, I went on the carousel and was then coaxed on a ride by an almost four year old, I couldn't say no to her! Luckily it was a kids ride, so no scary roller-coasters.)

We finished of our day at the seaside, headed home and the Mr made skittles milkshake. It was the perfect end to a perfect week. Going back to work today wasn't too painful, but I can't wait for another week off!
