Getting Hitched? Don’t Forget To Book Your Transport!

Wednesday, December 21, 2016

If you are planning your own nuptials without the help of a wedding planner, then the chances are that you’ve got a lot to think about. The most common thing that brides-to-be forget when planning their big day is surprisingly important - the transport for their big day. The chances are that it isn’t forgotten altogether, as such, but it does tend to get left to the last minute.

Failing to think about your wedding transport in advance is a problem for a range of reasons, one of the main problems with making this mistake is that you may not be able to get the transport that you’ve been dreaming of for your big day. Another issue is that you may not be able to get the amount of transport that you need, unless you are willing to pay over the odds for it, that is.

So it’s important to ensure that you don’t forget to book your transport, else you could end up in somewhat of a sticky situation. To make the process of picking your wedding transport easier and less stressful, have a read of this. (Hopefully, these tips will make the process much easier and more enjoyable for you!)

Take your wedding theme into account

The first thing that you need to do when it comes to booking transport for your big day is take your wedding theme into account. This is important, as although it might only be transport, you still want it to fit your theme. Say, for instance; your wedding theme is rustic/country wedding, then a horse and carriage could be one option worth considering. Or, say, for example, your wedding is going to be a modern affair, perhaps looking into VIP car hire could be the answer. Or, say you’re organising a wedding that’s themed around travel, for instance, perhaps you could hire VW camper vans to use to transport yourself, your partner, and the wedding party around.

Research what’s on offer in your area

Once you’ve decided on the type of vehicles you want to use to get to and from the ceremony and reception, the next step is to look at what’s on offer in your local area. Go online and research wedding transport in your area, to see what there is available. If you know anyone who’s recently got married, perhaps you could ask them what service they used for their wedding transport.

Think about who you want transport for

Obviously, when it comes to choosing your transport, it’s important to take who you need the transport for into account. Is it just you, your partner, and the rest of the wedding party? If there are just a few people to transport, then you will only need a couple of small vehicles. However, if you want (or need) to offer transport for your guests, then it’s a good idea to look at the larger vehicles available, such as party buses, for instance.

Don’t make the mistake of leaving your transport until the last minute, as you may not be able to book the transport that you want or need.
