The neglected garden.

Tuesday, June 03, 2014

Yep. The title of this post sums my garden up at the moment. Neglected. There's far too many weeds that need pulling, dead plants and leaves that need tidying. Not to mention hedges that need a good haircut. Oh so much to do and so little time. I need a big kick up the backside to get it done. Gardener wanted. Apply within.

On the plant side of things it's looking nice. I'm now past that awkward stage between spring flowers dying off and summer flowers blooming. The poppies we had last year are making a return and it won't be too much longer until they are in full bloom.

My potted plants are going quite well. I've had to put slug and snail pellets down to stop those critters from munching on my plants. It's working alright so far. Everything is growing nicely and I can't wait until they bloom so I can see what they are (stupid me didn't write down what was where!)

We should be getting a new bench soon so I can't wait. I'm hoping in will make the wasted space by my backdoor looking more like this. I can't wait to make it look pretty!

Let me know if you have any blog posts about your garden. I need all the inspiration I can get right now!

I've got a bit blonde.
Natural and golden blonde, but blonde and I'm rather chuffed with it. I do love lighter hair in the summer and as I have this week off work I decided that it was time for a pamper so yesterday at lunchtime I carted myself off to the hairdressers. Three hours and three tonal shades later and here we are. I really like it.

I love going to the hairdressers being pampered for a few hours is just lovely but I felt rather silly yesterday I still have this terrible cold (hence the puffy face and eye bags) and sat in the chair sniffly and coughing but the girls made me feel really welcome and even offered me a cup of herbal lemon tea to soothe my throat. It was just perfect.

I had to include the photo above. When I force ask the Mr to take outfit photos for me I always take a few snaps to get the light, colour and exposure right. I thought that this photo summed up his feelings when I ask him to take photos. Haha, he loves it really!

A shelf for plants.

The look of concentration!

A couple of weeks ago when we had a week of glorious weather I set the Mr a challenge. I'd been scrolling through Instagram and I saw a photograph of a plant shelf. I showed the Mr a photograph and asked if he could make it. I was expecting a no! But he was really up for it and a few days later he went off to B&Q bought himself a drill and nails (maybe screws, I don't know, something "drilly") and set to work. I took a few "before" pictures and then headed off to work.

Not being able to supervise I was wondering what I was going to come home too. But I have to say I was really impressed. The shelf looked great and I can't wait until the summer when my seeds have bloomed into beautiful flowers.

I'm expecting lots of things made from scratch now. I wonder if he knows?  Have you ever made anything like this? Or forced your other half too. Haha!

It's not goodbye!

Things on here have been quite. Too quiet. As you know by now I am due to move house. Well we thought that by now we would be moved in and everything would be back to normal. How naive we were. I am still at home. No no new house yet. They are sure taking there time to cash our deposit and give us the keys. Everything in boxed and I only have a handful of outfits that can be worn as the rest of my vast collection of clothes is packed away in many (read lots) of boxes. It sure is annoying being in limbo. Not knowing when we can move in. A big part of me wants to just unpack some things so my bedroom is not just box after box but I know that pretty soon (fingers crossed) we will be in our own house. With a cute garden and it will be great. Plenty of outfit posts, I can start cooking again ( I am having major withdrawal symptoms), lots of lifestyle posts and it will be nice to have my camera back in my hands everyday.

I just wanted to update you so you know that I'm not going anywhere and thanks for sticking by me. I will be back soon and I can't wait to start blogging again.

I took my driving test a little early on Monday and failed. Boo. I hate reversing around corners. Give me another couple of weeks and I'll be able to drive! Yay for no more L Plates. Then I have to find a car. Oh the joys of being an adult. Everything is all go at the minute. I can't wait till everything has settled down and I can start enjoying everything again!
