White - All nude by MUA
Glitter - Silver multi glitter by Barry M

I'm running rather late today. Ignore yesterday's post about being organised that starts at the weekend.

I've got a thing for white nails at the moment. Before I would have hated them. Very 90's, almost as bad as white shoes. But I'm in love with them and white shoes to be honest. It's funny how fashion comes back around, it also makes me feel old that what I wore when I was little has come back around. Ancient.

I'm feeling a bit under the weather today. I think I'm just tired so we are heading over to my mums. We are going to take some lunch and then sit out in the garden and make the most of this sunshine. After the rain we've had all week it makes a nice change.

We are heading out tonight to see the new X-Men film. I do love a bit of James McAvoy and I'm looking forward to seeing him in 3d. I mean the film in 3d ooops!

Have a lovely weekend. I plan on having a good one!

Keep up to date with me over the weekend on Twitter and Instagram!

DIY Speckled egg nails.

Wednesday, April 16, 2014

Sunday nights when the Mr clears off to play football I'm left for a few hours with time to myself. I used to fill the gap with watching shed loads of TV but all my programmes have finished. Why do they all finish at the same time?

So I thought I'd read through blogs and I noticed that a lot of bloggers have been buying speckled egg nail varnish. And me being me didn't want to fork out for another bottle of the stuff so I decided it was time to make my own.

After watching a few YouTube videos I thought I'd give it a try. I rather impressed. Although I could have used less speckle!

If you want to do this yourself here's how.

After prepping your nails with a protective base coat. You'll need a base colour, I went for Essie nice is nice but any pastel shade would look good. Apply enough coats until opaque.

You then need a black glitter. I used models own mixed up. Apply the glitter over the top. Use it sparingly and it doesn't need to be applied evenly. Wait for this layer to dry.

Then apply a very thing layer of the base colour again this will make the glitter look like speckles. Apply enough to look speckled but not too much.

And voila. Speckled nails with nail varnish you already own. Perfect for Easter too!

Seabreeze.

I've had this nail polish for a while now and I've worn it a couple of times. I get to this time of year and I want bright colours and summer things. It doesn't help when we have sunny days as it makes me crave that sunkissed skin feeling even more. I used to be much more of a winter person but I just want the sun and flowers and trips to the beach. Here's hoping that the next few months will kind to us and that summer will be here before we know it.

The nail polish I'm wearing is from Avon a brand which I still love. I remember having things from the book when I was little and I still have a love for their products (the mascaras are great!). The shade is a perfect spring shade and it works really nicely with the glitter top coat from Nails Inc.

I'm wanting new nail polishes so I think I might have to raid boots or the internet come payday!

Hoping you have a lovely weekend (I'm working!).

Essie - Nice is nice.

Saturday, January 25, 2014

Taking photographs of my nails is always tricky. I try to tie it in with outfit photographs but this time I wasn't so lucky. Que me with my camera on my tripod, squatting and trying to get as much of my nails in the photograph as possible (I'm sure you can imagine how weird that looks). Next time I'm getting someone else to take them!

Anyway onto the nail polish. How pretty is this colour. I'm not sure that Essie make this shade anymore but there are some very similar colours that are just as lovely. I've posted about it before but it's just too pretty not to include again. This time I've added a Nails Inc glitter polish to the tops to make little french tips. I said it last time and I'll say it again. You can't beat Essie on quality and it looks so pretty too!

Nails #16

Tuesday, May 07, 2013

In my April Glossybox I received a full size version of Essie Nice is Nice nail polish. Now we all know how everyone hypes about Essie so I was very excited to try it out.

I am in love with the colour and it's opaque after two coats. I do really love Essie. What I don't like is the price. However if you search for Essie you can find it for around £3.99 which is a price I am much more happy to pay.

Is it worth the hype? Yep. It really is.
