I've had this nail polish for a while now and I've worn it a couple of times. I get to this time of year and I want bright colours and summer things. It doesn't help when we have sunny days as it makes me crave that sunkissed skin feeling even more. I used to be much more of a winter person but I just want the sun and flowers and trips to the beach. Here's hoping that the next few months will kind to us and that summer will be here before we know it.

The nail polish I'm wearing is from Avon a brand which I still love. I remember having things from the book when I was little and I still have a love for their products (the mascaras are great!). The shade is a perfect spring shade and it works really nicely with the glitter top coat from Nails Inc.

I'm wanting new nail polishes so I think I might have to raid boots or the internet come payday!

Hoping you have a lovely weekend (I'm working!).

Flawless Friends - Skincare/Make up Routine!

Thursday, September 20, 2012

I've been meaning to do a post like this for a while. My routine. Witch Skincare asked all their Flawless Friends to post on how you keep your skin looking flawless. Well my skin is far from it so I rely quite a bit on make up. But I use as much skincare as I can to help things along the way.

My routine changes all the time but this is what's working for me at the minute. I haven't included cleansers but these vary between No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser, Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and L'Occitane Angelica Cleanser.

Evening - I use the following products: Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Serum, Clinqiue Overnight Turnaround Moisturiser, Avon Planet Spa Eye Cream, All For Eve Balm and Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask (put only on blemishes)

Morning - I prep my skin with: REN Hyrdacalm Global Protection Day Cream, All for Eve Balm.

Then apply: Maybelline Superstay 24h Foundation, Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, Collection Pressed Powder, HD Brow Pallette in Bombshell, Collection Extreme Eyeliner Felt Tip, Avon Plump Out Mascara, MUA Every Lash Mascara, Yves Rocher Sexy Pulp Mascara (yes I use three different mascaras!), MUA Blusher, NYC Lipstick and Lipcote.

And that is how I "fake"  my flawless look. I'll never be blemish free as that's my skin type and I've learnt to live with it. When my skin really breaks out I apply the good old Witch Blemish Stick (the oldies are the goodies) and that soon sorts me out! But other than that, there's no use stressing over bad skin just accept it, eat healthy, drink gallons of water and it will all clear up one day!

Avon Moroccan Oil Review!

Tuesday, September 04, 2012

RRP £3.00

When the Avon book arrived through my door a few weeks ago and this little beauty was on the front cover I knew I had to try it. As I have ombre/dyed hair, I find the ends of my hair to very dry and even with hair masks and deep conditioning it needed something else. I was planning on buying the "real" Moroccan oil for around £20 and I am so glad I waited and got this instead.

My hair has never been so soft and I am super impressed. Sometimes when something is cheaper it can be greasy on your hair and not moisturise it probably but this is heaven. I am going to be repurchasing this for a very long time!

It's currently on offer for £3 but full price I think it costs around £5. Not bad and such a great product too!

Empties - Products I've used up! #1

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

Now this kind of post you would usually see on Youtube and although my phone works it doesn't record the best quality and I have stupid Internet connection so I decided to do it as a blog post instead and here it is! These are empties I've gathered over the last few months. I don't finish things quickly so there's not a lot there for a few months worth, anyway I'll get on with it.

Avon Colour Trend Plump Out Mascara - I used to swear by this mascara and loved it so much. However recently it's not been working for me as well as it did. Whether they changed the formula or something I don't know. But I have moved on. Looking for other mascaras that won't break the bank!

Soap and Glory Righteous Butter - I love this so much. Mamma and I shared this between the two of us and it has lasted for ever. The scent is beautiful and lingers all day, it leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. I won't be repurchasing anytime soon as I have lots of other body moisturisers to use up but as soon as they run out I'll be snapping this up!

The Elle Grey Mavala Nail Polish - The best nail polish ever! The colour was nice the formula was amazing. It dried quickly and didn't take too many coats either. I want to explore the Mavala range and see the other nail polishes they do. I hope they are all as amazing as this one was!

Cutex Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover - This smells awful. I hate the smell so much. I have a Sally Hansen one at the moment and although that smells strong it's no where near as bad as this! I will not ever be repurchasing and I'm glad I've finished it up!

Avon Colour Trend Perfect and Hide Concealer - I loved this concealer before collection lasting perfection came along! I swore by this. It covers blemishes up really nicely. The only complaint I have is that it's pan stick and pan stick is a bit un-hygienic. Other than that before Collection came along I would have used this forever!

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse - This was my ultimate foundation since I was 14. And to be honest I loved it. I still do just not as much as my Bourjois foundation. I love the matte look. Being oily/combo skin anything that is supposed to look dewy makes me looks like a shiny mess! I really loved this and I'll always hold a place for this foundation but I'm glad I moved on!

Britney Curious Perfume - Curious was the first ever perfume brought for me and I love the smell. My sister brought me this miniature and I was perfect for sticking in my hand bag. I do love this a lot and would repurchase that is if they still do it!

Garnier Simply Essentials 2 in 1 Make Up Remover - The best eye make up remover I have used. Wipes away mascara and eyeliner with no harsh rubbing. Just wipe it over and the eye make up disappears. I would never use this on my face as I find it too oily but on my eyes it's great!

Natural Collection Loose Powder - I loved this powder. I've yet to find a powder I don't like to be honest. I need this for my oily skin and it does the job wonderfully. I won't be repurchasing as I'm using my Witch powder instead!

So that's my empties! Not a lot but I am a bit of a hoarder so I keep a lot of things! What have you used up recently? Any recommendations?

Avon Super Extend Extreme Mascara Review!

Wednesday, July 11, 2012

RRP £10*

This month's Marie Claire came with a free Avon mascara. There were three to choose from unfortunately the one I wanted I couldn't find so I settled for this the Super Extend Extreme Mascara. The product claims to lengthen the look of the lashes. I thought great! I have short eye lashes and a bit of length is what I need.

So I tried it out and I'm not really that impressed. I have used Avon mascara's in the past and I have always loved them, but this one isn't that great (for me!). It coats the lashes nicely but there is no added length and no volume my eyelashes look thin and spindly.

However the mascara worked well over my Yves Rocher mascara and de-clumped my lashes. Avon currently has the mascara on offer for £3.99 and if you have long lashes anyway or for false lashes I would recommend this mascara but if you have short stubby lashes like mine I'd go for something that adds a lot more volume and length. Would I purchase? No not this time, this mascara is not really for me, maybe when it drys out a bit it make my lashes look nicer, until then I'll stick with my Yves Rocher.
