Nails #16

Tuesday, May 07, 2013

In my April Glossybox I received a full size version of Essie Nice is Nice nail polish. Now we all know how everyone hypes about Essie so I was very excited to try it out.

I am in love with the colour and it's opaque after two coats. I do really love Essie. What I don't like is the price. However if you search for Essie you can find it for around £3.99 which is a price I am much more happy to pay.

Is it worth the hype? Yep. It really is.

Glossybox October 2012!

Monday, November 05, 2012

Time to review last months Glossybox.

Anatomicals - Dont just clean it woman, scrub it body scrub RRP £3.49
I really enjoyed this shower scrub. It smells just like pink grapefruit and the beads in the scrub aren't too harsh. I do have a tiny complaint and that is it's hardly a luxury product like Glossybox claims. I think £3.49 is a really great price though.

Dermalogica - 3 step day and night kit RRP £12
I have wanted to try Dermalogica for years ever since I was a spotty teen. I'm glad I've tried it and I am impressed. My skin brightened and cleared up. I'm not so keen on the smell, it kind of smells a bit like bathroom cleaner? Weird.

Skinectica - Anti-Blemish RRP £6.99
This claims to reduce spot size and redness. It worked well on my spot, it reduced the size and made it less painful. It did no better job than any other products to be honest. I think I'll stick with my Witch blemish stick.

Yves Rocher France - Moisturising Cream Lipstick RRP £14.50
I've wanted to try a luxury lipstick for ages and you can see the difference. The colour is more vivid and they last so much longer. I'm really impressed with Yves Rocher as a brand. I loved their mascara and this lipstick is one of my favourites too.

Overall a good box! I love trying out new things and Glossybox is perfect for that.

"Glossybox costs £10 per month plus p&p. I pay for my Glossybox and all opinions are my own."

September's Glossy Box!

Wednesday, October 03, 2012

This months Glossybox was designed by Maggie Li. How cute is this design? You can watch a video on Youtube and see her make the design. I want all Glossybox's to look like this. Anyway onto the box.

The first product was the Rodial Glamoxy Snake Serum - £127 full size. There is no way I would ever try a product costing £127 for a full size bottle. But getting these little samples are the perfect way to try this way out of your price range. I really loved this serum and my mum used it to. The serum is aimed at older women and my mum loved it a lot more than I did. It made her skin look radiant and plumped.

I also received a Rodial Five Minute Facial - £35 full size. We used these samples before the serum. The mask was amazing and I love a good face mask. It has very similar effects to serum and leaves your skin feeling nourished and beautiful. I'd rather pay £35 for a face mask that £127 for the serum.

The next product is one I have tried before as Glamour magazine were giving it away a few months ago and I brought it for my mum. The Balance Me Eye Cream - £20 full size. I like this cream but I see no visible difference when I use it. It makes the skin around my eyes feel soft but that's about all. I don't think I would buy this full size!

The next product is a hit and miss with most, fragrance samples! I don't mind receiving one every now and then. This sample was Lady Gaga Fame - £25.32 (random price?) full size. I found the fragrance to be too sweet and sickly for my taste. I like more sophisticated smells and this just doesn't smell good on me.

I loved The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture Cream - £9 full size. I have the vitamin e serum so I knew that I would probably love this. And this sample has just confirmed it. I will be buying another tub of this as soon as I have used this one up!

The last product was a Loreal Professional Full Volume Extra  Mousse - £10.50 full size. I haven't used a hair mousse in a long time and I kind of liked this. I'm not a massive mousse fan, it can leave my hair greasy and sticky but this was alright. I preferred the product that came with it the Loreal Professional Tecni Art Liss Control Serum £10.70 full size. This made my hair lovely and smooth and I preferred this. I don't think I'll buy either product to be honest!

I'm happy with the box overall, not the best, not the worst. The design of the box was definitely the best thing!

August Glossybox Review!

Sunday, August 26, 2012

This month's box was an International box featuring famous products from all over the world. I found this really exciting a I loved trying out the products, some I loved, some I liked, some I didn't! Here are my reviews:

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil £7.85 for 200ml
This Japanese cleansing oil claims to dissolve dirt, excess oil and waterproof mascara. I have really enjoyed this product. I use this to take off my foundation before I thoroughly deep cleanse my face. I really enjoy using this and as my skin is oily/combo I was a bit weary of using an oil. But this leaves my skin feeling great! I am considering purchasing this!

Lipcoate Lipstick Sealer £3.99 for 7ml
A British product that claims to keep your lipstick in place. I used this for a night out and when I first put it out I was bit weary as it tingled and I am sometimes allergic to things that tingle. However I found this to work really well and no allergies!! Great value and I will repurchase to keep in my make up collection.

Alessandro Pro White Original £7.85 10ml
This German nail varnish claims to whiten your nails with just a few coats. It's a bit weird and turns my nails more blue (I know blue is shade of white and all that) but it looked odd. I do like it but I won't be repurchasing this to be honest.

All for Eve Eve's Balm £4.95 for 7g
This British balm claims to nourish and protect dry chapped skin and it works really well. I've used this on my lips mainly but it can be used anywhere where there's dry skin. I love this, it's a great product, it's great value and buying contributes to charity!

Vera Valenti L'Ombre A Paupiere Margarita £3.85
I think pretty much everyone who received this Spanish eye shadow palette was disappointed. This looks like something I got when I was five. I don't like  the colours, I mean green eyeshadow? Really? Will not be buying! Did not enjoy!

Glossybox Lipstick in Glossy Pink £9
I'm not to keen on Glossybox using their own products in the box but I love this lipstick! The only thing is I don't if I can buy this? Where do Glossybx sell their own products? Hmmmm.

July Glossybox Review!

Monday, August 06, 2012

A little late but I hadn't tried out all the products and didn't want to post about it until I had. This months Glossybox was fantastic. I loved every single product and I'm super impressed!

The first product was the HD Brows Eye & Brow Palette RRP £19.95 - this was a full size product too which was amazing. I had been wanting to try an HD brow palette for a while now but didn't want to splurge on it in case I didn't like it. I love it I swear by this now and my brows look filled but natural. I use the pale neutral colour on my eyelids to just smooth them over!

The second product was the Clynol Salon Exclusive Enrich Colour Shampoo RRP £9.35  - I loved this product too. I love trying shampoo's and you get results instantly. My hair loved this, it added some moisture to my dry hair, it also cleaned it well. I would probably pay for a full size as I enjoyed it but shampoo is shampoo and I'm going to keep trying lots of different ones for now!

The next product was the MONU Golden Glow RRP £23.00 - I'm not a major fan of fake tan but this worked nicely. It claims to work in 3 - 5 hours and it does. It is gradual tan to so no orange streaks in sight. I did enjoy using but I would buy it. Like I said I'm not too fussed by fake tan. I've given this to my mum to use!

The next product was the Jelly Pong Pong Lip Frosting RRP £10 - I enjoyed this so much! It looks great and smells good enough to eat. I really enjoyed this. I am going to be looking at the range online to see what else they stock. This colour is a pinky red. It looks a lot darker when you squeeze it out than it does on your lips. But it doesn't look to tacky, which is great!

The last product was the Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Skin Balancing Lotion SPF 15 RRP £32 - I really enjoyed this too. I love how this makes my skin feel. I use this as a base before I apply my make up. I loved my eight hour cream so I knew that this would be a fantastic product. I probably won;t be buying it for myself as it is a little pricey but I do love it so if you want to buy it for me! You can!!!

There was a bonus sample too of the Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Skin Balancing range. I haven't tried these out yet but they are very similar to the lotion. The samples include and exfoliater, a serum and another sample of the lotion!

Overall I really enjoyed this box! It was amazing and I've used all the products this month. Each one has found it's place in my collection (expect the tan, mum can have that!).

Do you receive Glossybox? What did you get?

Glossybox costs £10 ( +P&P ) and I pay for my own box. I am not sent it for free. For more information visit the Glossybox website.
