A boat skirt and my weekend.

Top - New Look
Skirt - Primark
Necklace - eBay

How do days off go so quickly? This weekend has flown by and it feels like I've not had a minute. We went to the cinema Friday evening to see X-Men. I have to say I did enjoy it and the fact that Hugh Jackman is a little bit naked, well that's just an added bonus!

We spent Saturday morning in the town over from ours, browsing the charity shops. I left empty handed which is always a rubbish feeling. We grabbed some lunch then headed home. I baked and then we just relaxed on the sofa finishing off the cinema goodies we had left over.

Yesterday we went out for breakfast with the Mr's family and then headed over to my mums. We talked baking and gardening. Mum knows so much more and I'm totally clueless when it comes to the garden. I need to bribe her to come over and help me out again! Mum then made the most delicious tacos, complete with spicy wedges and Mexican coleslaw. It was delicious and we left with rather full stomachs.

It's been such a lovely weekend but it's gone far too quickly. I'm back at work tomorrow then off again Tuesday I'm hoping to blog and possibly even vlog (maybe, who knows?) about my day.

How was your weekend? Was the sun shining where you are?

Today is the last day to nominate for the Cosmo Blog Awards I can't tell you how grateful I would be if you could nominate we for the best food blog! Follow the link here.

Picnics in the garden.

Monday, April 21, 2014

Top - Primark
Dress - Vintage
Necklace - Roam
Sunglasses - H&M

Let's start with a very British tradition. Talking about the weather. I'm a little annoyed (to say the least) that this weekend hasn't been as glorious as the past week. It always works out that my days off the weather is terrible. It's just not fair and if you are listening weather controlling people start making more sunshine.

Now I've got that rant out of the way, this weekend has been perfect. Saturday we had a picnic in the garden and yesterday we spent the day round my mums. The boys watched the football while we made my mini egg rocky road and then mum made us a roast dinner. It was perfect.

Today, hopefully, we are going to pop out to a street sale. It's become a bit of a bank holiday tradition and as you know I love to pick up little thrift finds. You never know what you can find! Then hopefully we grab a coffee somewhere then maybe I'll head into the garden and start planting. Who knows? I'm happy to just see where the day takes me.

I do love time off and spending it with the people I love. I'll be sharing my whole weekend with you on tomorrows blog post.

Dress - Forever 21
Tights - Primark
Ring - Roam
Hat - H&M

Another busy day yesterday and I remembered to take photos for a "my day in photos" post it's something I've been wanting to do for ages and I either forget, or last time I got food poisoning and I don't think you would want to see my day in photos, it would not be pleasant. That post will be live this week. I've also planned and scheduled this weeks blog posts, how organised of me. (No surprise there, control freak alert!)

I'm hoping that this weather stays with us. I've got a lot of freelance photography work planned and I really want the weather to stay nice. I'm hoping that my freelance work picks up, it's something I used to do a lot of and I've recently got back into.

Onto the outfit. I brought this the day I went to the Paralympics. It was such a great day and after we watched the wheelchair basketball we headed over to Westfield where I raided Forever 21 and my brother raided the Fred Perry shop. (He's such a clothes snob!!) So this dress holds a lot of good memories and today's sunshine seemed like the perfect time to bring it back out of the wardrobe. It's funny how items of clothing can hold such sentimental memories. I hope I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I hope you enjoy your Sunday and think of me while I'm at work! .

Top - Charity shop, Dress (worn underneath) - Vintage, Tights - Primark, Boots - New Look, Necklace - eBay.

A fashion post. Wow I must be organised. I always think yeah I'll post my outfit, then never get round to doing it. I picked up this top yesterday on my charity shop haul. My sister and I went to every charity shop in our town on the look out for pretty clothes and Christmas presents. We did really well. I got a few presents and two top all for under £15. Not bad!

I'm still getting used to my haircut. All together I've probably had about 3 inches off which for someone who always says "please just take the ends and no more" it's a big step. I think it makes me look a bit more mature and it looks a lot healthy than it did.

I've got lots more Christmas posts lined up so keep your eyes out for those!

Top - Lavish Alice
Cardigan**, Shoes - New Look
Tights - Primark
Skirt - eBay
Cross bracelet* - Miss Geekay

Total Outfit Price: £22.49

I took these photos yesterday but ran out of time to post them last night. I brought this top in the January sales as it was £1 and I thought it would be great for when the weather got warmer. It's still cold, but I'm bored of waiting.

I've got summer dresses all lined up in hope that I might get to wear them.

Hurry along summer.

I'll be posting up a recipe for hot cross buns tomorrow. They taste amazing!
