Empties - Products I've used up! #1

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

Now this kind of post you would usually see on Youtube and although my phone works it doesn't record the best quality and I have stupid Internet connection so I decided to do it as a blog post instead and here it is! These are empties I've gathered over the last few months. I don't finish things quickly so there's not a lot there for a few months worth, anyway I'll get on with it.

Avon Colour Trend Plump Out Mascara - I used to swear by this mascara and loved it so much. However recently it's not been working for me as well as it did. Whether they changed the formula or something I don't know. But I have moved on. Looking for other mascaras that won't break the bank!

Soap and Glory Righteous Butter - I love this so much. Mamma and I shared this between the two of us and it has lasted for ever. The scent is beautiful and lingers all day, it leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. I won't be repurchasing anytime soon as I have lots of other body moisturisers to use up but as soon as they run out I'll be snapping this up!

The Elle Grey Mavala Nail Polish - The best nail polish ever! The colour was nice the formula was amazing. It dried quickly and didn't take too many coats either. I want to explore the Mavala range and see the other nail polishes they do. I hope they are all as amazing as this one was!

Cutex Acetone Free Nail Polish Remover - This smells awful. I hate the smell so much. I have a Sally Hansen one at the moment and although that smells strong it's no where near as bad as this! I will not ever be repurchasing and I'm glad I've finished it up!

Avon Colour Trend Perfect and Hide Concealer - I loved this concealer before collection lasting perfection came along! I swore by this. It covers blemishes up really nicely. The only complaint I have is that it's pan stick and pan stick is a bit un-hygienic. Other than that before Collection came along I would have used this forever!

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse - This was my ultimate foundation since I was 14. And to be honest I loved it. I still do just not as much as my Bourjois foundation. I love the matte look. Being oily/combo skin anything that is supposed to look dewy makes me looks like a shiny mess! I really loved this and I'll always hold a place for this foundation but I'm glad I moved on!

Britney Curious Perfume - Curious was the first ever perfume brought for me and I love the smell. My sister brought me this miniature and I was perfect for sticking in my hand bag. I do love this a lot and would repurchase that is if they still do it!

Garnier Simply Essentials 2 in 1 Make Up Remover - The best eye make up remover I have used. Wipes away mascara and eyeliner with no harsh rubbing. Just wipe it over and the eye make up disappears. I would never use this on my face as I find it too oily but on my eyes it's great!

Natural Collection Loose Powder - I loved this powder. I've yet to find a powder I don't like to be honest. I need this for my oily skin and it does the job wonderfully. I won't be repurchasing as I'm using my Witch powder instead!

So that's my empties! Not a lot but I am a bit of a hoarder so I keep a lot of things! What have you used up recently? Any recommendations?

Glossybox Review #2

Sunday, June 24, 2012

It's Glossybox time! The June 2012 box is supposed to be about getting ready for summer and although I'm not too sure it does that this box did impress me.

No cute paper this month! That upset me a little bit, only because the paper before was beautiful. Haha, oh well.

The first product this month was the Glossybox Serie Exclusiv Pro Beauty Brush RRP £15.00. The brush is made of natural goats hair and boy does it smell of goats. I know that sounds stupid but the smell really puts me off. I have just brought The Real Techniques brushes so anything that's not those doesn't live up to my standard at the moment but it came in handy for using one of the other products.

The next product is Yves Rocher France Mini Mascara Ultra-Volume Sexy Pulp RRP £16.90 full size. This is possibly my favourite product. It's one of the best mascara's I've used and I know a lot of other people have felt the same. It coats your lashes evenly, no clumps is a definite bonus. My lashes looked longer and fuller. I really love this. Would I purchase this with my own money? Possibly £16.90 is a lot for me but it is worth it!

The third product was BM Beauty Summer Warmth Bronzer RRP £8.00 full size. I really loved this product. I have been after a decent bronzer for a while so when I saw this in my box I was really happy. And after trying it out I'm still sold on it. The colour is bronze enough without being orange. It gives you a really healthy summer glow! And I am considering purchasing this!

The next product is also controversial the Agent Provocateur Eau Provocateur RRP £39.00 full size. Fragrance samples never go down well I don't mind getting them but something else would have suited me better. Three little bottles of the fragrance came in the box and I only really liked the black one. The others smelt either too young or too old. I'm not going to be buying this. But if someone buys it for me I wouldn't complain!

The final product was the Vichy Dermablend Ultra-Corrective Foundation Cream Stick RRP £19.00 full size. I was really excited about trying this product. I love anything foundation or skincare and this claims to make dark circles and blemishes disappear instantly. But I found this product took a lot of work. I'm used to a liquid concealer and I think they are more hygienic too! Once I had worked it in I like the product. Will I be buying it? Probably not.

Overall I am happy with my box, if I had received something other than the perfume this box would have been near on perfect!

Do you receive Glossybox? What did you get?

Glossybox costs £10 ( +P&P ) and I pay for my own box. I am not sent it for free. For more information visit the Glossybox website.

YSL Touche Eclat
RRP £25.00

I was really happy when I found that I had a free sample of Touche Eclat. It's something that I wanted to try forever and I finally got my chance. But unfortunately I don't think it lived up to the high expectations I had.

Don't get me wrong, the coverage is good but I just feel you can get the same coverage for so much cheaper.
The shade was No.1 which suited my skin tone. The coverage is quite light so it took quite a lot of building up. As I always say I have dark circles under my eyes anyway and this is something I struggle to cover up. I expected YSL Touche Eclat to cover these up perfectly but I found that my £1.50 Avon concealer does the job much better and for a cheaper cost. I could buy 16 Avon concealers and have change for the price of one Touche Eclat.

It's good but it's not great I far recommend Avon concealer against this.

I rate the concealer 3/10
