Maybelline Super Stay 24h Foundation Review!

Friday, August 31, 2012

RRP £9.19

When I posted my empties post you might have seen that my foundation was in it and I said I would talk about my new foundation very soon. Well here it is. I watched countless top five foundation videos to find one that people loved and that would work for my oily/combo skin. This came up a lot and for £9.19 (random price, I know) I didn't think it was bad value at all.

Another great feature of this foundation and possibly all the Maybelline foundations, I'm not too sure, is that the foundations have the same colours. I used to use Dream Matte Moose and sand was my colour so I picked it up and tried it and it was a perfect match.

Although I enjoyed my Bourjois foundation I found it to be too dewy for my oil skin and ended up piling a lot of powder on top. With the Super Stay foundation I don't have to use a lot of powder. It really suits my oily/combo skin and I really love it. I recommends this to anyone with the same skin as me and I think it has great coverage and perfect for my skin.

P.S The winner of the giveaway hasn't replied to my email if they don't reply by Monday I will draw a new winner!

Avon Super Extend Extreme Mascara Review!

Wednesday, July 11, 2012

RRP £10*

This month's Marie Claire came with a free Avon mascara. There were three to choose from unfortunately the one I wanted I couldn't find so I settled for this the Super Extend Extreme Mascara. The product claims to lengthen the look of the lashes. I thought great! I have short eye lashes and a bit of length is what I need.

So I tried it out and I'm not really that impressed. I have used Avon mascara's in the past and I have always loved them, but this one isn't that great (for me!). It coats the lashes nicely but there is no added length and no volume my eyelashes look thin and spindly.

However the mascara worked well over my Yves Rocher mascara and de-clumped my lashes. Avon currently has the mascara on offer for £3.99 and if you have long lashes anyway or for false lashes I would recommend this mascara but if you have short stubby lashes like mine I'd go for something that adds a lot more volume and length. Would I purchase? No not this time, this mascara is not really for me, maybe when it drys out a bit it make my lashes look nicer, until then I'll stick with my Yves Rocher.

Balance Me Rose Otto Intensive Lip Salve Review!

Friday, July 06, 2012

RRP £12*

Magazine freebie time again and of course I will be stocking up so expect to see lots of reviews. Glamour Magazine were giving away Balance Me products and the choices were between a moisturiser, cleanser, eye balm and lip salve. I brought the eye cream for Mamma and the lip salve for myself. I didn't buy the other two as I have lots of cleansers and moisturisers to review.

I've needed a lip balm for ages and I regretted not picking on up for L'Occitane but when this came along I snapped it up. The product works well and my lips are silky smooth. The real test will be in winter as my lips can get really dry. I love the herbal smell (much to Mr. Swan's disgust) but it leaves a weird taste in your mouth. Which is bearable but not something I enjoy about the product. However as a magazine freebie you can't go wrong. Would I purchase this for £12, fraid not but as a free product I love it!

Would you like to see a review on Mamma's eye cream? Let me know!

Maybelline BB Cream Review!

Thursday, July 05, 2012

RRP £7.99*

Another day another BB review. You know me I love BB the idea of BB creams but no all agree with my oily/combo skin. However a lot of the BB creams now are oil free! Yay my oily skin cheers. I am no longer a shiny mess.

I sent for some samples of Maybelline BB cream and yesterday it turned up. I like BB crams on my day off, I don't like heavy make up and this seemed like the perfect time to try it.

I really love it. Good coverage and no oily mess. I think this is best one I have tried. It suited my skin tone nicely and my skin didn't feel too caked either.

Out all of the ones I've tried this has a thumbs up and I'm going to purchase some.

Simple Moisture Boost Hydro Mist Review!

Monday, July 02, 2012

RRP £5.99Caudalie Beauty Elixir . Having never tried the beauty elixir I have nothing to compare it to, so in hindsight this was a bit of a random purchases. But anyway, I brought it to refresh my face and make up after work.

I brought this a while ago and kept meaning to review it, well better late than never! I brought this a cheap alternative (I'm such an idiot) for

I have to admit spraying yourself in the face isn't the nicest thing in the world, but it doesn't rub off your make up. I find it really refreshing it's perfect after a long day at work or a lazy day out in the sun.
My face feels softer and more hydrated and although simple doesn't use fragrances it kind of smells like old-fashioned face powder, a smell I adore!

I have oily/combo/sensitive skin so I can't use any thing harsh or too natural on my face but this has the perfect balance!

When I go back to Uni. and traveling on the train it's going to be perfect for popping in my handbag and using to refresh my face after a horrendous train journey!
