Yesterday was a perfect day off. If only I had a few more. It was my mum's birthday so after spending Saturday evening baking a cake we popped over to see her. Taking a cream cake in a hot car was a bit risky but I packed it with ice and it worked. Which I'm very grateful for, rather than a hot cream cakey mess. That would not be great. No thank you. 

In the afternoon I had a photo shoot booked so we nipped out to a little garden. We then headed back to mum's before deciding where we would go out for mum's birthday dinner. We headed to a local pub by the sea which was just perfect. 4 meals, 3 desserts and a couple of glasses of wine later we went back to mum's for a slice of her birthday cake, after singing happy birthday at the top of our lungs. It was such a lovely day.

I'm back at work today. Cramming lots into one day of is tricky, my housework is mounting up and I have a few blog posts to plan. Luckily I'm not at work until lunchtime tomorrow so hopefully I'll get some time to sort everything out. If someone could add another day to the week I'd be really grateful. 

I'm also hoping to make a few changes to my blog. I just want to improve it and get as far as I can. When you've worked hard on something for two years it's hard seeing others getting a lot further than you. I don't know I think we (meaning bloggers) all go through a stage of wanting to change things up and make things better for ourselves. Any advice would be lovely! I've been speaking to a few other bloggers who feel the same way. Oooh I don't know, I'm just stuck in a bit of a rut. Time for change I think.

I'm posting bit later than normal. I'm blaming this horrendous cold that I've picked up from somewhere. What awful timing with my week off but I suppose at least I don't have to drag myself out of bed. and go to work.

This weekend went so quickly. I'm glad I've got a week off as this weekend flew by. We went to a wedding on Saturday, where I was the photographer. It's my first of the year and it was just lovely. I've now got loads of photographs to go through and edit. Then yesterday we went out for breakfast and then headed over to my mums for a roast. Delicious! 

I don't have a lot planned this week, which is perfect. I just want to relax and have a bit of pampering. I'm getting my hair done on Wednesday and hopefully getting these brows sorted on Thursday. And hopefully I'll paint my nails! (Does anyone else always run out of time?)

How cute is this necklace? It only cost me £1.30 something of eBay and even though it came all the way from China it didn't take that long to arrive. Apparently in this outfit I look like a lighthouse. Thanks for that Mr!

These past two days have been beautiful and for once I wasn't stuck inside work. I actually got to enjoy them. I can now understand why everyone loves Bank Holiday weekends!

So as the sun had come out it's time for my pasty pale legs to join it. I never tan on my legs no matter how hard I try.

Today we went to the street sale and carboot and I found a beautiful pitcher, a wooden sign and two Japanese bowls. I spent the grand total of £2.50. I'm so excited at buying home things, I've got three massive boxes full of homeware in my bedroom. I'm planning on buying some from Next too.

Wow what's happened to the weather. It was minus 7 last night and further inland it was down to minus 12. It's very cold in East Anglia at the minute. Which is bad for some people but is the perfect opportunity for me to get my camera out. Like I need an excuse.

I never know what to wear when it's so cold. I went really casual today as I really can't be bothered. I'm staying in and trying to get on with uni work. Oh the joy.

I'm probably going to post a recipe tomorrow (maybe I'm not promising) is there anything you'd like to see. Baking or cooking? Sweet or savoury? Healthy or fatty?

I'm desperately trying to get summer pieces in my wardrobe even though there is snow forecast for the weekend! I think i may be obsessed with heart print at the minute too.

I'm hoping to do a few baking posts again soon. I got the Great British Bake Off recipe book for Christmas so there are plenty of recipes I need to bake.
